About World Teachers' Day
World Teachers' Day has been observed since 1994 and is organised by UNESCO with its partners. The date, 5 October, marks the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers, covering training, rights, responsibilities and working conditions.
